SUMMARY:Official Launch of CAN! (Climate Action Now) Research and Action Partnership
DESCRIPTION:The launch event of CAN! (Climate Action Now) will mark a pivotal moment in our commitment to combating climate change and promoting sustainability. The CAN! partnership is designed as an industry-led\, community-involved\, digitally enabled initiative with the goal of accelerating and scaling climate action\, beginning with the food system. CAN! starts from the premise that technological and policy developments are necessary\, yet not sufficient to achieve the desired outcomes.  \nWe emphasize the importance of business and human considerations\, including health\, food security\, equity\, and social outcomes\, in systems transformations and start from two entry points to catalyze climate action: 1) social sciences knowledge related to innovation\, management practices\, new economic models\, and engagement of business ecosystem actors\, and 2) digital capacity\, including AI\, data interoperability\, and digital communications. Join the launch! \nLocation: Online \n  \nLaunch Schedule: \n\nWelcome\nSummary of submitted proposal\nTime Line for SSHRC decisions\nImmediate Launch activities:\n\nRequirement analysis\nMinimal Viable Product for the Community of Practice (incl. Knowledge Exchange and Co-Ideation Platform)\nConferences and events\nPotential immediate projects\nStudent engagement\n\n\nDiscussion: Do we need to set specific GHGE reduction targets?
