About CSIID

Through research, education, and outreach, CSIID creates positive impacts for both current and future generations, advancing sustainable business practices that benefit society and the environment.

The Telfer Centre for Sustainble Impact / pour l’impact durable builds on the work of the Globalization, Governance, and Sustainability (GGS) group established in 2018 as one of the 5 areas of strategic importance (ASI) under the As part of the Telfer 2025 Strategic Plan. The group’s vision is to create and broker new knowledge in pursuit of responsible global governance that sustains both life and economies. The mission is to inform global governance practices by balancing economic performance with social and environmental imperatives through strategic research initiatives, outreach, and teaching activities that target managers, organizations, and future managers and educators.

In 2020, the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa joined over 800 leading business and management schools worldwide committed to building a more sustainable future by striving to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through an UN-backed initiative called the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).

The Centre for Sustainable Impact came into existence in 2023. The centre plays the role of connecting Telfer professors, students and collaborators from all sectors to build Canadian capacity and action towards a sustainable future.
